A man allegedly broke the window a Chevrolet SUV in the parking lot of Walmart, located at 85 Crooked Hill Road, on June 11 at approximately 6:15 a.m. The suspect allegedly stole a wallet from the vehicle and fled in a dark-colored SUV, possibly a Chevrolet Suburban.

A woman allegedly stole assorted merchandise from Stop & Shop, located at 2350 North Ocean Ave., at approximately 1:35 p.m. on June 8.

Suffolk County Police arrested a Flushing woman on June 13 for alleged prostitution during a massage parlor raid in Huntington.

In response to community and quality of life complaints, Second Precinct Crime Section officers and Second Squad detectives, in conjunction with officials from the Town of Huntington, conducted an investigation into Red Door Spa, located at 454 New York Ave., at approximately 2 p.m. on June 13.

Following an investigation, Lijiao Chen, 46, of Elder Ave., Flushing was arrested and charged with two counts of alleged Prostitution and two counts of Unauthorized Practice of a Profession. Chen was released on a Desk Appearance Ticket and is scheduled to appear at First District Court in Central Islip  in July.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured a pedestrian in Huntington Station on June 12.

Joseph Romeo was crossing Columbia Street when he was struck by a 2019 BMW being driven northeast at 6:38 p.m. Romeo, 68, of Huntington Station, was transported to Huntington Hospital for treatment of serious physical injuries.

The driver of the BMW, Joshua Crowel, 29, of Medford, was not injured. The BMW was impounded for a safety check. Anyone with information on this crash is asked to contact the Second Squad at 631-854- 8252.

Suffolk County Police Fourth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a man in Hauppauge this morning.

Brian Nieves was driving a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee in the middle lane of the westbound LIE at approximately 3:15 a.m. when the Jeep struck the rear of a 2012 Peterbilt tractor trailer, driven by Rafael Mercado. Nieves, 38, of Bay Shore, who was alone in his vehicle, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Mercado, 55, of Medford, who was also alone in his vehicle, was not injured.

The Jeep was impounded for a safety check. Suffolk County Police Motor Carrier Section officers conducted a safety check on the tractor trailer at the scene.

The collision caused all westbound lanes near Exit 56 of the expressway to close for several hours. The lanes have since reopened.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452.

Suffolk County Police Fourth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a man and seriously injured another man in Smithtown on June 8.

Michael Bittleman was driving a 2018 Nissan westbound on Middle Country Road, near Highway Place, when the vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic and struck an eastbound 1989 Mercedes Benz in a head on collision at approximately 9:30 p.m.

Bittleman, 36, of East Northport, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the Mercedes, John Zeumer, 63, of St. James, was transported to the same hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452.

Suffolk County Police on June 8 arrested a man who allegedly owned and operated a functioning drug manufacturing laboratory in Ronkonkoma.

Fifth Precinct Patrol officers and Canine Section officers responded to a report of a burglary at Quantitative Laboratories, located at 1850 Pond Road, at approximately 3:30 a.m. While searching the premises for the burglars, officers discovered equipment and chemicals consistent with the manufacturing of methamphetamine.

Following an investigation by Fifth Squad detectives, Arson Section detectives and Narcotics Section detectives, with the assistance of members of the New York State Police and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, Matthew Leshinsky, the owner and operator of Quantitative Laboratories, was arrested. Significant quantities of solid and liquid methamphetamine, ketamine and cocaine were confiscated from the premises, along with approximately $40,000 in cash.

Leshinsky, 23, of Levittown, was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree, five counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree and Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine 3rd Degree.

The Suffolk County Police Department Impound Section will hold an auction on Saturday, June 10 at the Suffolk County Police Department Impound Facility, located at 100 Old Country Road in Westhampton. The auction will begin at 9 a.m. and will be held rain or shine. There will be a preview of the vehicles on Thursday, June 8 and Friday, June 9 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the impound yard. Vehicles will also be available for preview one hour prior to the start of the auction.

Approximately 120 lots will be auctioned off including sedans, SUVs, a dump truck, trailers and motorcycles. All vehicles will start with a minimum bid of $500 and are sold as-is. A man entered Walmart, located at 85 Crooked Hill Road, and allegedly used a stolen credit card in the early morning hours of May 25. The suspect fled in a white SUV.
