Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Fourth Precinct Crime Section officers are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the man who allegedly struck an employee at a fast food restaurant in St. James last month.

A man allegedly threw a tray of food, went behind the counter and punched a male employee of Wendy’s, located at 570 Middle Country Road, on June 30.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest. Suffolk County Police arrested a teenage boy on July 8 on weapons charges after he shot himself in the hand with an illegal handgun in Huntington Station.

A staff member at Huntington Hospital notified police that a 15-year-old boy was being treated in the emergency room for a gunshot wound to his left hand at 3:18 p.m. Following an investigation by Second Squad detectives, a .22 caliber ghost gun was recovered at the teen’s residence on Foxwood Drive East and he was placed under arrest at 6:23 p.m.

The 15-year-old was charged with alleged Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Criminal Use of a Firearm 2nd Degree, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Person Under 16 and Reckless Endangerment 2nd Degree. He is scheduled to appear at Family Court in Central Islip at a later date.

Suffolk County Police Seventh Squad detectives are investigating a crash that killed a motorcyclist in Calverton on July 8.

Yener Can was operating a 2022 Ducati motorcycle southbound on County Road 24 when he struck a 2010 Honda CRV that was turning onto the northbound lanes from the eastbound LIE Exit 71 off ramp at approximately 7:35 p.m. Can, 39, of Medford was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner. The driver of the Honda, William Alberto Rodriguez-Campos, 24, of Shirley was not injured. Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the Seventh Squad at 631-852-8752.

Suffolk County Police arrested a Central Islip man on July 7 for four robberies and an attempted robbery in
Suffolk County since May.

After an investigation, Major Case Unit detectives determined Andre Desvignes was responsible for robbing the following places:

• Bethpage Federal Credit Union, 233 South Research Place, Central Islip, on May 30.
• United States Postal Service, located at 136 Carleton Ave., Islip Terrace, on June 21.
• Bethpage Federal Credit Union, located at 233 South Research Place, Central Islip, on June 29.
• United States Postal Service, located at 136 Carleton Ave., Islip Terrace, on July 7.

Desvignes, 55, also attempted to rob Bethpage Federal Credit Union, located at 1350 Deer Park Ave., on July 5.
He was charged with four counts of Robbery 3rd Degree, and one count of Attempted Robbery 3rd Degree.

Update: David Forbes was located unharmed on July 9.

Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to locate an autistic man who
was reported missing on July 5.

David Forbes left his mothers house on Birchfield Court, Coram on foot on July 4, after 11:30 p.m. He was reported missing on July 5. Forbes, 38, lives in Canton Massachusetts and is white/Hispanic, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, and weighs 175 pounds. He is bald and has brown eyes. Forbes is diabetic He was possibly in Astoria Queens at approximately 6:55 a.m. on July 6.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on Forbes’s location to call 911 or Sixth Squad detectives at 631-854-8643.

Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives are investigating a crash that seriously injured a man
operating a dirt bike in Medford in the early morning of July 6.

Emily Farrington was driving a 2014 Ford Mustang northbound on Route 112 when she attempted to make a left turn into a parking lot and was struck by two southbound dirt bikes at approximately 12:10 a.m.

Tomeik Young, 23, of Middle Island, who was operating a Suzuki 450 dirt bike, was transported to Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue in serious condition. A passenger on the Suzuki, Deandre Henderson, 17, of Bellport, was transported to the same hospital for treatment of non-life- threatening injuries. Kashaun Parrish, 20, of Bellport, who was operating a Honda 150 dirt bike, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Farrington, 18, of Medford, was not injured.

All the vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.

A woman allegedly stole assorted merchandise from Stop & Shop, located at 2350 North Ocean Ave., at approximately 1:35 p.m. on June 6.

Suffolk County Police arrested a man on July 4 for allegedly driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle
crash that killed a man in West Hills.

Leo Flores Gracias was driving a 2017 Honda Accord northbound on Sweet Hollow Road, south of Chichester Road, when the vehicle crossed into the southbound lanes and struck a 2010 Toyota Prius head on at approximately 8:05 p.m. A passenger in the back seat of the Honda, Marlon Nunez, 23, of Huntington Station, was transported to Plainview Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Flores Gracias was airlifted via Suffolk County Police helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Two other passengers in the Honda were transported to area hospitals for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Toyota, Giorgi Patarkalashvili, 25, of Brooklyn, was transported to Huntington Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Flores Gracias, 26, of 118 West 10th Street, Huntington Station, was charged with allegedly Driving While Intoxicated. He will be arraigned at a later date. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the Major Case Unit at 631-852-6555.

Suffolk County Police Fourth Squad detectives are investigating a multi-vehicle crash that killed a man
in Hauppauge on July 3.

A 2023 Mack garbage truck, being driven by Jaswinder Singh, was traveling eastbound on Express
Drive South when it rear ended a 2019 Honda Accord that was stopped at a red light at the intersection
of Motor Parkway at approximately 8:50 a.m. The truck then sideswiped a 2018 Thomas Built School
Bus, and then rear-ended a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The Jeep became lodged in the front of the garbage truck, and the Jeep struck a 2009 Toyota Matrix, causing the Toyota to spin into a utility pole. The driver of the Honda Accord, Joseph Kelly, 24, of West Islip, was pronounced dead at the scene. The drivers of the Jeep and Toyota were taken to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the bus, and three toddlers on the bus were not injured. The driver of the garbage truck, Singh, 51 of Bellerose, Queens was not injured. Singh was issued multiple summonses.
The truck and three vehicles were impounded for a safety check.

Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are investigating a three-vehicle crash that seriously injured a Bay Shore man on July 3.

John Sinkweich was driving a 2003 Honda Accord northbound on Nicolls Road in South Setauket when the vehicle crossed into the intersection of Nesconset Highway at 10:53 a.m. The Honda collided with a 2002 Infiniti being driven by Melissa Aglialora eastbound on Nesconset Highway, and then with a 2022 Honda CRV that was stopped and facing westbound in the left turning lane of Nesconset Highway.

Sinkweich, 23, of Bay Shore, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious physical injuries. Aglialora, 37, of Lake Ronkonkoma, was also taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the Honda CRV was not injured.
