Shelter Pet of the Week

Parker

MEET PARKER!

This week’s shelter pet is Parker, an 8 to 9-year-old Chihuahua and COVID orphan currently waiting at the Smithtown Animal Shelter for his furever home.

Parker’s mom loved him very much and it shows. This little guy adores all people, cats and friendly dogs big and small. He was over-indulged by his prior owner and some bad habits developed. He has resource aggression and needs a home that is comfortable managing this, giving him strict rules and structure and a parent that understands he is 100% worth the effort.

Parker is adored by every person that meets him. Unlike most Chihuahuas, he loves meeting new people and going on adventures. This poor boy has been through the ringer and needs a family that won’t give up on him.

He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on his vaccines.

If you are interested in meeting Parker, please call ahead to schedule an hour to properly interact with him in the shelter’s Meet and Greet Room. The Smithtown Animal & Adoption Shelter is located at 410 Middle Country Road, Smithtown. For more information, please call 631-360-7575 or visit www.smithtownanimalshelter.com.

Dale

MEET DALE AND BRENNAN!

This week’s shelter pets are Dale and Brennan, two 6-month-old orange tabby cats currently waiting at the Smithtown Animal Shelter to be adopted.

Brennan

These handsome, bonded brothers came to the shelter about two months ago with severe upper respiratory infections. After some TLC, they are now healthy and ready for their happily ever after together. These gentle mushes love to cuddle together and get affection from people too. They were very shy when they arrived at the shelter, but have warmed up to everyone. They would do best in a quieter home. They come neutered, microchipped and are up to date on all their vaccines.

If you are interested in meeting these brothers, please call ahead to schedule an hour to properly interact with them in the shelter’s Meet and Greet Room. The Smithtown Animal & Adoption Shelter is located at 410 Middle Country Road, Smithtown. For more information, please call 631-360-7575 or visit www.smithtownanimalshelter.com.

MEET ANGEL!

This week’s shelter pet is Angel, a 6-year-old Blue Nosed Pit Bull who has been waiting at the Smithtown Animal Shelter for her forever home for over 2 years. Angel adores people and FOOD!  She would be best suited to a breed savvy home where she can be the only pet and no children.

Angel is a loving, smart dog who enjoys splashing in the pool, exploring the outdoors and napping with her people. She is eager to please and comes spayed, microchipped and up to date on all her vaccines.

If you are interested in meeting Angel, please call ahead to schedule an hour to properly interact with her in the shelter’s Meet and Greet Room. The Smithtown Animal & Adoption Shelter is located at 410 Middle Country Road, Smithtown. For more information, please call 631-360-7575 or visit www.smithtownanimalshelter.com.

Tyson
Tyson

MEET TYSON!

This week’s shelter pet is sweet Tyson who arrived at the Smithtown Animal Shelter when his dad fell ill and could no longer care for him.

Tyson is young and energetic, he loves meeting new people and playing with any toy! He does not enjoy other animals and should be the only pet in the home.  Because of his energy level, he should only be with older children. He would love an active lifestyle or a big yard.

This handsome boy is neutered, microchipped and up to date on all his vaccines.

If you are interested in meeting Tyson, please call ahead to schedule an hour to properly interact with him in the shelter’s Meet and Greet Room. The Smithtown Animal & Adoption Shelter is located at 410 Middle Country Road, Smithtown. For more information, please call 631-360-7575 or visit www.smithtownanimalshelter.com.

MEET MIA!

This week’s shelter pet is Mia, a 2-year-old brindled beauty currently waiting at the Smithtown Animal Shelter for her knight in shining armor.

Mia is a lab/pit mix with a goofball spirit and a loving personality. Left to grow up as a yard dog, she did not receive the love and attention she deserved as a puppy and needs an experienced home where she can learn what it is to be a normal dog with a loving family. She is as playful and affectionate as they come and believes herself to be a 70 pound lap dog!

Mia is spayed, microchipped and up to date on all her vaccines.

If you are interested in meeting Mia, please call ahead to schedule an hour to properly interact with her in the shelter’s Meet and Greet Room. The Smithtown Animal & Adoption Shelter is located at 410 Middle Country Road, Smithtown. For more information, please call 631-360-7575 or visit www.smithtownanimalshelter.com.

Ducky

MEET DUCKY!

This week’s shelter pet is Ducky, a male domestic short hair mix who is estimated to be around one year old. This black beauty was brought to the Smithtown Animal shelter as a stray by a good Samaritan and he’s ready to live in a purr-manent home where he can be the king of the house.

Ducky is initially a shy fella, but once given a bit of affection, he’ll nudge your hand and ask for more! This sweet cat deserves a quiet home without any children or dogs and a loving furrever family that will help him come out of his shell. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on all his vaccines.

If you are interested in meeting Ducky, please call ahead to schedule an hour to properly interact with him in the shelter’s Meet and Greet Room. The Smithtown Animal & Adoption Shelter is located at 410 Middle Country Road, Smithtown. For more information, please call 631-360-7575 or visit www.smithtownanimalshelter.com.

This week’s shelter pet is Bailey, a 10-year-old male tuxedo cat currently waiting at the Smithtown Animal Shelter for his furever home.

This affectionate senior was left behind when his mom had to move. He is a total sweetheart who is very affectionate and who loves to be petted and given attention. He’ll curl up and snuggle with you any day, any time!

Bailey does have a skin condition, but otherwise is happy and healthy. He would do well in a home with other pets, but would prefer to have a quiet home without any children.

He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on all his vaccines.

If you are interested in meeting Bailey, please call ahead to schedule an hour to properly interact with him in the shelter’s Meet and Greet Room. The Smithtown Animal & Adoption Shelter is located at 410 Middle Country Road, Smithtown. For more information, please call 631-360-7575 or visit www.smithtownanimalshelter.com.

Suzie

MEET CALI, ROCKY AND SUZIE!

Cali
Rocky

This week’s shelter pets, from left, Cali, Rocky and Suzie, are three buddies at the Smithtown Animal Shelter hoping to be adopted together.

All three pups, each twelve years old, came to the shelter after their owner sadly passed away. The Animal Shelter is looking for someone with a giant heart to Furrever Foster these wonderful dogs together. Cali is a Female Cattle Dog Mix, Rocky, a Male Shepherd Mix, and Suzie is a Female Border Collie Mix. The three siblings each have arthritis, and Suzie has some skin problems, but they do not let these issues stand in their way of playing and having fun with each other. These adorable loves are all very affectionate, and would do well in homes with other pets.

If you are interested in meeting Cali, Rocky, and Suzie, please call ahead to schedule an hour to properly interact with them in the shelter’s Meet and Greet Room. The Smithtown Animal & Adoption Shelter is located at 410 Middle Country Road, Smithtown. For more information, call 631-360-7575.
