Suffolk County Police are advising motorists of a road closure due to the annual Miller Place-Rocky Point St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 16.

Route 25A will be closed between Miller Place Road in Miller Place and 150 feet east of Broadway Avenue in Rocky Point from 11:45 a.m. to approximately 4 p.m. Parking will be prohibited along the parade route.

Both uniformed and plainclothes officers will be present to monitor crowd activity and will be enforcing the Brookhaven Town Ordinance prohibiting the possession of open alcoholic beverages. Violation of this ordinance could result in a fine. Spectators are to remain off the main travel portion of the roadway during the parade.

Suffolk County Police Fourth Squad detectives are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian in
Hauppauge on March 15.

Nicholas Rogers was driving a 2016 Ford Mustang eastbound on Veterans Memorial Highway when the
vehicle struck an adult male who was crossing the street near the intersection of Schoolhouse Lane at
approximately 4:50 a.m.

The pedestrian, whose identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was pronounced
dead at the scene. Rogers, 24, of Smithtown, was not injured.

The Mustang was impounded for a safety check. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to
contact the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452.

The man pictured above allegedly stole approximately $275 worth of sneakers from Famous Footwear, located at 1770 Veterans Memorial Highway, at 6:48 p.m. on December 20.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Sixth Precinct Crime Section officers are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the man who was involved in a hit-and-run crash in Port Jefferson Station.

A man driving a black Kia, Florida plate RETD20, pulled out of the parking lot at 5145 Route 347 and struck a 2020 Ford SUV traveling eastbound on Route 347 on March 12 at 9:15 p.m. The Kia sustained to the front driver’s side. No one was injured in the crash.

Suffolk County Police arrested a Huntington Station woman on March 13 for allegedly operating a dental practice without a license at a home in Bay Shore.

Third Squad Detectives developed information that Yolany Y. Mejia Carranza was performing dental work without a license at a home on Heckscher Ave. in Bay Shore. Detectives, in conjunction with the Town of Islip Fire Marshal and Building Inspector, executed a search warrant and discovered a fully functioning dentist office at the home.

Mejia Carranza, 55, of Huntington Station, was charged with 3 counts of Unauthorized Practice of a Profession, a class E felony. She is being held at the Fourth Precinct and will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on March 14.

In addition to the Bay Shore location, detectives believe Mejia Carranza was previously operating an illegal dental business at 135 Broadway in Huntington Station.

In response to numerous community complaints, Fourth Precinct Crime Section officers, Fourth Squad detectives, in conjunction with the town of Smithtown Fire Marshal and Building Department, conducted an investigation into Tao’s Foot Spa, located 279 Smithtown Boulevard, and arrested two workers on March 12.

Qiaolan Liu, 45, of South Setauket, was charged with Unauthorized Practice of a Profession, a felony, and Prostitution, a misdemeanor. Liying Han, 36, of Queens, was charged with Unauthorized Practice of a Profession.

The Town of Smithtown Fire Marshall and Building Department issued multiple violations to the business and deemed the location unsafe for occupancy. Liu and Han were issued Desk Appearance Tickets and are scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on a later date.

Suffolk County Police arrested a woman for alleged prostitution during a massage parlor raid in Lindenhurst on March 12.

In response to numerous community complaints, First Precinct Crime Section officers and First Squad detectives, in conjunction with the Village of Lindenhurst Building Inspector, conducted an investigation into New Sunny Foot Spa, located at 141 North Wellwood Ave., and arrested Peimin Pan at 4:12 p.m.

Pan, 47, of Centereach, was charged with Unauthorized Practice of a Profession, a felony, and Prostitution, a misdemeanor. Pan was issued a Desk Appearance Ticket and is scheduled to appear at First District Court in Central Islip on a later date.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate two men who allegedly stole from a Commack store in February.

The two men pictured on right allegedly stole more than 80 Stanley water bottles from Dick’s Sporting Goods, located at 6070 Jericho Turnpike, at 2:07 p.m. on February 4. The merchandise was valued at approximately $3,225.

The man pictured allegedly used a stolen credit card to purchase liquor at Kings Park Wine & Liquor, located at 88 Main St., on February 7 at 8:20 p.m. The man fled in a van. The liquor had an approximately value of $2000.
