Three men allegedly stole clothing from Old Navy, located at 2089 Lake Grove Plaza, at approximately 2:40 p.m. on October 19. The merchandise is valued at approximately $900.

A man broke a lock and entered Transitions Counseling Services located at 22 Lawrence Avenue, on November 18 at approximately 8:45 p.m. and stole cash.

Suffolk County Police arrested an Amityville woman who allegedly falsely reported bomb and gun threats at the Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove .on Jan. 1. Fourth Precinct officers responded to mall after a text message was sent to 911 reporting a bomb inside the mall at approximately 4:06 p.m. A few minutes later, another text message from the same phone number indicated a woman had a gun in the mall.

Officers conducted a thorough search and determined there was no threat to the public. Following an investigation by Fourth Squad detectives, Tasia Morales, an employee of one of the mall stores, was arrested. Morales, 28, of 803 Bayview Ave., Amityville was charged with Falsely Reporting an Incident 1st Degree.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the driver who fled the scene of a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured a pedestrian in Huntington Station on Dec. 29.

A woman was attempting to cross New York Avenue, just south of Huntington Public Library (Station Branch), when she was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene southbound on New York Avenue at 7:10 p.m. The victim, 39, was airlifted with serious injuries to Stony Brook University Hospital. Her identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The vehicle that fled is described as an older model gray four-door sedan, possibly a Nissan Sentra or Altima.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Second Precinct Crime Section officers are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the man who allegedly stole gas from a Commack gas station this month.

A man allegedly pumped $60 worth of gas into a white SUV at Speedway, located at 5087 Jericho Turnpike, on December 19 at 7:50 a.m. The suspect fled without paying.

Suffolk County Police Seventh Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a man after his vehicle crashed into a house in Center Moriches on Dec. 30.

William Zeliniski was driving a 2006 Ford medical transport van when the vehicle left the road and struck the side of 129 Frowein Road at 9:25 a.m. Zeliniski, 59, of Selden, was transported to Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue where he was pronounced dead. The passenger in the van and the occupants in the house were not injured. The vehicle was impounded for a safety check.

Detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact the Seventh Squad at 631-852-8752.

Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are investigating a shooting that injured two people on Main Street in Port Jefferson just after 7 p.m. on December 28.

The two victims were shot near Linden Place between the railroad tracks and Perry Street. One victim was taken to Stony Brook University Medical Center via an ambulance with a chest injury. The other victim was transported by a friend to Mather Hospital with minor injuries.
Police have determined both were targeted by a single individual, although it’s unclear what led to the shooting. The investigation is continuing.

Suffolk County Police Fourth Squad detectives are investigating a single-vehicle crash that killed a man in Commack on Dec. 29.

A man was driving a vehicle at a high rate of speed southbound on Motor Parkway, near Shinbone Lane, when he failed to negotiate curve and the vehicle struck a utility pole and crashed into a wooded area at approximately 4 a.m. There appeared to be no witnesses to the incident and police were not called to the scene until a passing motorist called 911 at approximately 8 a.m.

The man, who was alone in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from
the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner. The man’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The vehicle was impounded for a safety check.

Anyone with information on this crash is asked to call the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452.
