Suffolk County Police Fourth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a man
riding a scooter in Nesconset on April 3.

Christopher March was driving a 2018 Dodge Ram ProMaster City westbound on Route 347 when the
vehicle struck a man on an electric scooter who was crossing the roadway at the intersection of Southern
Boulevard at approximately 9:20 p.m.

The scooter operator, Paul Harrison, 54, of Hauppauge, was transported to Stony Brook University
Hospital where he was pronounced dead. March, 40, of Lake Grove was not injured.

The Dodge and the scooter were impounded for safety checks. Anyone with information on the crash is
asked to call the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452.

Suffolk County Police Seventh Squad detectives are investigating a head-on crash that killed a woman in Manorville on April 4.

Mary Brennen was driving a 2018 Hyundai Tucson southbound on Wading River Road, north of Par Drive, when her vehicle crossed into the northbound lane, striking a 2019 Nissan Rogue, driven by Sheryl Gochman, at approximately 9:25 a.m.

Both women were transported via Suffolk County Police helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital. Brennen, 40, of Manorville, was pronounced dead at the hospital and Gochman, 68, of Manorville, was admitted for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to call the Seventh Squad at 631-852-8752.

Suffolk County Police Seventh Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to locate a missing Shirley
teen.

Benjamin Allen Jones was last seen leaving his residence, located at 125 Floyd Road, on April 1st at
approximately 9:30 p.m. He did not return home and was reported missing on April 3 at approximately
10 a.m. Jones, 16, is Caucasian, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall and 110 pounds. He has curly brown hair and hazel eyes. He was last seen wearing a grey “Nike” sweatshirt and dark pants.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on Jones location to contact the Seventh Squad at 631-
852-8752 or call 911.

Suffolk County Police arrested a caregiver on April 4 for allegedly stealing money from seven residents with special needs at a group home in Manorville in 2021.

While doing paperwork in February of 2022, a manager at Independent Group Home Living, located on the North Sunrise Highway Service Road, noticed money was missing from seven different residents. The manager contacted the Suffolk County Police Department and made a complaint.

After an investigation, Fifth Precinct Crime Section officers, arrested a former employee of the home,  Kathleen Will for allegedly stealing $200 each from seven different residents on November 19, 2021. Will is no longer employed by Independent Group Home Living as of December 2021.

Will, 35, of Mastic Beach, was charged with 7 counts of Petit Larceny. She was issued a Desk Appearance Ticket and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on April 24.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Update: Toni Simmons, the 8-year-old girl who was reported missing on April 2, has been located in Florida with her mother and is unharmed.

Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to locate an 8-year-old girl who was reported missing after a visit with her mother at a Medford hotel.

Toni Simmons was last seen with her biological mother, Carrie Walker, who was visiting from Florida, on April 1 at the Comfort Inn, located at 2695 Route 112. When Simmons’ father attempted to pick up the child on April 2, the child and her mother were not at the location. Simmons, who lives with her father in Brookhaven, is white, 4 feet 6 inches tall, 70 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. Walker, 31, left the hotel in a black 2021 Jeep Compass with Alabama plate 48A14NB.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on Simmons’ location to call the Sixth Squad at 631- 854-8652 or 911.

Update: Milinda Carman, 41, of Miller Place, who was reported missing on March 30, has been seen in the
Southampton/Quogue area as recently as April 2. Carman is considered vulnerable and may be
suicidal.

Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to locate a Miller Place
woman who was reported missing in March.

Milinda Carman, 41, was last seen leaving her home on Old Cow Path on March 29 at approximately 11 a.m. She was reported missing by a friend on March 30 at 7:56 p.m. She drives a 2021 bright red Jeep Wrangler, New York State license plate HYK 6024. Carman is Caucasian, 5 feet 6 inches tall and approximately 120 pounds. She has blonde hair and green
eyes.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on her location to call 911 or the Sixth Squad at 631-
854-8646.

A man allegedly stole a package containing an iPhone 14 from the porch of a Dale Lane home on February 20 at approximately 11:20 a.m.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest. Suffolk County Police arrested two people on March 30 for allegedly selling e-cigarettes to persons under 21 during compliance checks at businesses in the Sixth Precinct.

In response to community complaints, Sixth Precinct Crime Section and Community Support officers, in conjunction with the Suffolk County Department of Health and the Brookhaven Town representatives, conducted an investigation into the sale of vape products to minors at two stores in the Sixth Precinct, from approximately 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The following persons were arrested, and the businesses were issued citations:

Joseph Lombardi, 18, of Coram, an employee of MNT Convenience Vape, located at 5507-3 Route 347
in Mount Sinai, was arrested for alleged Unlawful Sale of Cannabis and Unlawful Sale of Nicotine/Vape to
Persons under 21 years of age, at 5:05 p.m.

Vipulkumar Patel, 35, of Farmingdale, an employee of Miller Place Vape, located at 345 Route 25A in
Miller Place, was arrested for two counts of alleged Unlawful Sale of Nicotine/Vape to Persons under 21 years
of age, at 7:34 p.m.

Sixth Precinct Crime Section officers seized over 6,900 flavored vape and THC products from the
businesses. The arrestees were issued Field Appearance Tickets and will be arraigned at First District Court in
Central Islip at a later date.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

A man allegedly stole household items from Walmart, located at 85 Crooked Hill Road, on September 24 at approximately 4:30 p.m. The items were valued at approximately $900.

A woman allegedly stole a package containing two iPhones from a porch on Sandra Drive within 15 minutes of delivery by FedEx on March 6. The woman fled in a dark-colored BMW SUV.  The incident was captured on video.
