A man and woman allegedly stole several Ralph Lauren Polo items from Bloomingdale’s, located at 270 Walt Whitman Road, on June 16 at 7:10 p.m. The merchandise was valued at approximately $800.

Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the shooting death of a woman in
Central Islip.

Third Precinct police officers responded to 117 Hawthorne Ave. after a family member of
Shayna Staton reported finding her dead inside her residence on June 19 at 9:41 p.m. Staton, 39, who suffered a gunshot wound, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to contact the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392 or call
anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Fourth Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate a man who allegedly stole a pocketbook from a shopping cart in Commack last month.

A man allegedly stole a pocketbook, containing a credit card and cash, from a shopping cart at Walmart, located at 85 Crooked Hill Road, on May 11 at 9:50 p.m.

Suffolk County Police Fourth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a man in Commack on June 17.

Edward Riley was driving a 2023 Chevrolet pickup truck west on Vanderbilt Parkway, near Redleaf Lane, when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree at approximately 4:40 a.m.

Riley, 58, of Ronkonkoma, who was alone in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to call the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452.

Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives are investigating a multi-vehicle crash that seriously injured two people in North Patchogue on June 15.

Jeffrey Edsall was driving a stolen 2001 Ford Explorer northbound on North Ocean Avenue, when he crashed the vehicle into the back of a northbound 2013 Chevy Suburban, driven by Josue Medrano, who was turning left into the Ruland Funeral Home, located at 500 North Ocean Avenue, at approximately 7 p.m. The impact caused the Explorer to spin into the southbound lane, where it was struck by a southbound 2015 Nissan Rogue, driven by Juan GonzalezBravo. The Explorer overturned, and Edsall was ejected from the vehicle. The Rogue then collided with a southbound 2021 Volkswagen Atlas, driven by Kerrianne Anderson.

Edsall, 52, of Patchogue, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Medrano, 19, of Central Islip, and four rear seat passengers of the Suburban, three of whom were adults and the other a five-year-old child, were transported to local hospitals for treatment of minor injuries.

GonzalezBravo, 46, of East Patchogue, as well as a front passenger of the Rogue, were transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Mercedes Segara, 72, of Equador, a rear passenger in the Rogue, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious but non-life- threatening injuries.

Anderson, 48, of Mt. Sinai, and the two 12-year-old male passengers in the Atlas, were not injured. Edsall was charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th Degree. The Ford Explorer had been reported stolen from Randy’s Auto Repair, located at 242 Medford Ave., in North Patchogue, earlier that day. The vehicles were impounded.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to call the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.

Update: Ashton Treadwell has been located unharmed.

Suffolk County Police Seventh Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to locate a Mastic man who was reported missing earlier this month.

Ashton Treadwell, 20, of Abby Lane, was last seen leaving his home on the Poospatuck Reservation on June 4 at approximately 1 p.m. He was reported missing later that day. Treadwell is a Black man, approximately 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs approximately 260 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on his location to contact the Seventh Squad at 631-852-8752 or 911.
