Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Sixth Precinct Crime Section officers are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate a man who allegedly stole from a South Setauket store this month.

A man allegedly stole mechanical tools valued at $796 from Home Depot, located at 255 Pond Path, on December 1 at approximately 3:10 p.m.

Suffolk County Police Major Case Unit detectives are investigating a hit-and-run crash that killed a man in Farmingville on Dec. 11. 

A man was crossing northbound on Horseblock Road, near Raymond Avenue, when he was struck by an unknown vehicle traveling westbound at approximately 6 p.m. As he was lying in the roadway, a Subaru Impreza struck the victim, then spun and crashed into a fire hydrant, a tree, and a parked Hyundai Tucson. 

The pedestrian, Alberto Perea Vazquez, 56, of Farmingville, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner. The two male drivers of the Subaru and Hyundai were transported to Stonybrook University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate two women who allegedly used stolen credit cards in Selden.

A woman reported two unknown women went through her unlocked vehicle, parked on Merrick Street, Holtsville, at approximately 2 a.m. on September 9 and stole a pocketbook containing credit and debit cards. At approximately 5:30 p.m. that day, two women used the credit cards at several stores, including Walgreens, located at 655 Middle Country Road, Selden.

A man and two women allegedly hid three pairs of sunglasses in a baby stroller and walked out of Sunglass Hut, located in the Smith Haven Mall, at approximately 6:10 p.m. on October 23. The merchandise was valued at $1,192.

Suffolk County Police Seventh Precinct officers responded to a wooded area in East Moriches after a sheep was found tied to a tree on Dec. 7.

A land surveyor located a sheep with its feet tied together in a wooded area behind a vacant home on Evergreen Avenue at approximately 12:20 p.m. Seventh Precinct Officers Doug Draude and Samantha Thompson responded and assisted veterinarian Dr. Benjamin Haar in providing emergency care to the
sheep. The sheep was transported to a local animal sanctuary for further medical treatment.

Suffolk County District Attorney Biological, Environmental and Animal Safety Team (BEAST) detectives are investigating.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives are investigating a robbery that occurred at a Holbrook grocery store.

A man passed all points of sale at Stop and Shop, located at 57-01 Sunrise Highway, with approximately $225 worth of Tide PODS on October 29 at approximately 9 p.m. An employee confronted the suspect in the parking lot and the suspect punched the employee and threatened to stab him. 

 The suspect, who was described as Black, approximately 6 feet 4 inches tall, and between 25 and 35 years old, fled in a four-door sedan with an orange license plate.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the person who allegedly stole a dumpster in Huntington Station in November.

A 30-yard dumpster was stolen from outside Advance Service Center, located at 360 East Jericho Turnpike, on November 9 at approximately 6 p.m. The suspect fled with the dumpster on a flatbed truck. The dumpster was valued at approximately $8,000.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate three people who allegedly stole from a Medford store last month.

Two men and a woman allegedly stole more than $4,500 in merchandise, including more than $3,000 worth of Mackage winter jackets, from TJ Maxx, 2799 Horseblock Road, Medford on Nov. 26. During the incident one of the suspects displayed a knife when confronted by store management. They fled in what appears to be a black Nissan or Infiniti sedan with aftermarket rims.
