Suffolk County Police arrested an elementary school custodian on Jan. 10 after he allegedly posted a video soliciting sex and exposing himself on social media while working at the school.

Thomas Winberry live steamed video of himself allegedly soliciting sex and exposing himself while working as a custodian at Otsego Elementary School, located at 55 Otsego Ave. in Dix Hills, on January 9 at 9:15 p.m.

Following an investigation, Special Victims Section detectives arrested Winberry, 34, of West Islip, and charged him with allegedly Public Lewdness. He was issued a desk appearance ticket and is scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip at a later date.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to call the Special Victim’s Section at 631-852-6531.

Update: Altomare Fornuto has been located unharmed.

Suffolk County Police have issued a Silver Alert for a missing Melville woman who suffers from cardiac issues.  

Altomare Fornuto, 90, was last seen driving a tan Nissan Maxima with New York State license plate CAN 7602 near the intersection of Newbridge Road and Hempstead Turnpike East, in East Meadow, on January 10 at approximately 3:30 p.m. Fornuto resides at 1603 Shannon Way. 

Fornuto is white, 5 feet tall, and 100 pounds. She has brown hair with brown eyes. 

Detectives are asking anyone with information on Fornuto’s location to call 911 or Second Squad detectives at 631-854-8252. 

Silver Alert is a program implemented in Suffolk County that allows local law enforcement to share information with media outlets about individuals with special needs who have been reported missing.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Fourth Precinct Crime Section officers are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the woman who allegedly stole merchandise from a Commack store.

A woman allegedly stole clothing, bedding and electronics from Walmart, located at 85 Crooked Hill Road, on December 16 at approximately 3:30 p.m. The stolen merchandise has a value of approximately $385.

A woman allegedly stole various household items including a Versace blanket from HomeGoods, located at 6 Henry Street on December 17. The items were valued at approximately $1,300.

A man and woman allegedly stole medicine from BJ’s Wholesale Club, located at 50 Daniel Street, on December 20 at approximately 8:30 p.m. The medicine was valued at $3,674.

Suffolk County Police Fourth Squad detectives are investigating a crash that seriously injured two teens
in Commack on Jan. 9.

Alexander Wisniewski was driving a 2022 BMW M5 traveling northbound on Old Commack Road when he lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree on the driver’s side at 10:27 a.m. Wisniewski, 18, of Dix Hills, and the passenger in the vehicle, Haris Khan, 18, of Dix Hills, were transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment of serious injuries.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452.

Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the
death of a man who was trapped after excavated dirt collapsed in Head of the Harbor on Jan. 8.

Employees from Darius Masonry Inc. were installing cesspool rings at 1 Piper Lane when Lauro Pacheco entered the hole to level the ring and the excavated dirt collapsed into the hole at approximately 2:25 pm.

Pacheco, 38, of Bay Shore, was extricated from the hole by Emergency Service Section officers and pronounced dead at 8:20 p.m. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) was notified.

Suffolk County Police Seventh Squad detectives are investigating a two-vehicle crash that killed a man
in Manorville on Jan. 8.

Michael Forman was driving a 2021 Ford F-150 westbound on Sunrise Highway, between William Floyd Parkway and Wading River Road, when his vehicle sideswiped a 2022 Nissan Sentra, driven by Alisa Coffey-Hamilton. Forman’s vehicle then struck a tree on the north side of the road and Coffey- Hamilton’s vehicle struck the guide wire in the median.

Forman, 63, of Hampton Bays, was pronounced dead at the scene. Coffey-Hamilton, 41, of East Patchogue, was transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Both drivers were alone in their vehicles.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the Seventh Squad at 631-852-8752.

A woman allegedly stole cosmetics, clothes and toys from Target, located 2975 Horseblock Road, on December 20 at 10:30 p.m. The items were valued at more than $350.
