Suffolk County Police arrested a man on Jan. 7 for Criminal Possession of a Firearm in Lake Ronkonkoma. Fourth Precinct Patrol officers responded to Raynor Park, located at 174 Ronkonkoma Ave., after a 911 caller reported a man with a gun running around the lake at 4:20 p.m.

Officers canvassed the area and located a man who fit the description of the subject on Lake Terrace Road at 4:24 p.m. The man, Kyle Cronin, was in possession of a .32 caliber revolver and was taken into custody.

Upon further investigation, an AR15 rifle was found inside Cronin’s residence on Walnut Street in Lake Grove, and was seized. Cronin, 20, was charged with Criminal Possession of a Firearm. He is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip of January 27.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Fourth Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the man who allegedly burglarized a business in Nesconset in December.

A man allegedly stole items from multiple storage lockers at the Public Storage, located at 770 Nesconset Highway on December 7. He fled in a BMW.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Sixth Precinct Crime Section officers are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the person who allegedly stole merchandise from a Medford store.

A man allegedly stole an EGO snow blower from Lowe’s, located at 2796 Route 112, on December 21 at approximately 12 p.m. The man fled the parking lot in a white Ford van with plate KMN 3542.

A man and woman allegedly stole assorted items, including a kitchen aid mixer and a 50-inch television from Walmart, located at 85 Crooked Hill Road on November 19.

Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured a bicyclist in Holtsville on Jan. 7.

Thomas Velazquez was riding his bicycle northbound on North Ocean Avenue when he attempted to make a left turn, north of Jamaica Avenue, and was struck by a northbound 2007 Honda Civic driven by James Jacobs. Velazquez, 41, of Massapequa Park, was airlifted with serious injuries to Stony Brook University Hospital. Jacobs, 52, of Blue Point, was not injured. The vehicle was impounded for a safety check.

Suffolk County Police  arrested a Ridge man  for leaving the scene of a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured a bicyclist in East Islip on Jan. 7. Aaron Kudla was riding his bicycle eastbound on Union Boulevard when he was struck by an eastbound Chrysler Concorde, near the intersection of Carleton Avenue, at 9:25 a.m. The vehicle fled the scene.

Kudla, 30, of Islip, was transported with serious injuries to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore. The driver, Scott Parker, and the Chrysler were located a short time later. The Chrysler was impounded. Parker, 33, of Ridge, was arrested and charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Serious Injury.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Suffolk County Police arrested two women for alleged unlawful practice of a profession and prostitution during a raid at a massage parlor in Commack on Jan. 5.

In response to community complaints, Suffolk County Fourth Precinct Anticrime, Community Support Unit, Fourth Squad detectives, Property Section officers, and Smithtown Public Safety/Fire Marshal conducted an investigation at Lily Spa, located at 649 Commack Road, at approximately 2:45 p.m. The Smithtown Fire Marshal issued 20 violations for fire code and building offenses. The Smithtown Building Department Inspector deemed the unit unsafe for business for electrical violations.

Jingru Liu, 45, of Flushing, Queens, and Changrong Li, 43, of Fresh Meadows, were each charged with Unauthorized Practice of a Profession and Prostitution. Both women were given a Field Appearance Ticket and will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on another date.

Suffolk County Police Major Case Unit detectives are investigating a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a man in Selden on Jan. 4.

Isaac Ramirez, 18, of Selden was traveling southbound on an electric bicycle on Dare Road, near 13th Street, was struck by a vehicle also traveling southbound, at 9:52 p.m. The driver fled the scene, continuing southbound on Dare Road. Ramirez was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220- TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.

Just released! Suffolk County Crime Stoppers, and Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad and Seventh Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the man who robbed two businesses in December.

A man entered Nirvana Smoke Shop, located at 382 Medford Ave. in North Patchogue, struck an employee with a pistol, pushed two others to the ground and fled with cash on December 26 at approximately 9:55 p.m. Approximately 20 minutes later, the suspect entered Lucky Smoke Shop and Beer, located at 20 Floyd in Shirley, pointed a gun at employees and stole cash. The man was described as approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the word “Hurley” in blue on the front, black pants and red and black sneakers. Investigators believe the suspect may have fled in a flight-colored SUV, possibly Chevrolet Equinox or similar.
