Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Second Precinct Crime Section officers are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the man who allegedly stole two pairs of Nike golf shoes, wearing one out of the store and hiding another in his pants, from Dick’s Sporting Goods, located at 870 Walt Whitman Road in Melville, on Sept.17 at approximately 4 p.m.

Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney announced on Nov. 21 the sentencing of Bradley Garyn to an indeterminate prison term of 5 to 15 years in prison after a 2020 four-month long investigation into child pornography and coercion crimes following a juvenile female’s report to law enforcement that the defendant coerced her into providing him with explicit photographs and videos via the social media platform Snapchat. 

The investigation revealed that Garyn established contact with multiple juvenile females on Snapchat under multiple usernames including “ipay4feetpics,” “paying4feetpics” and “PayU4Selfies.” The defendant offered $10 payment in exchange for “selfies” or photographs of the girls’ feet.

After establishing communication with the victims, Garyn solicited increasingly explicit photographs and videos in exchange for higher amounts of money, up to $500. In one instance, Garyn coerced a victim into sending him sexually explicit photographs and video by threatening to disseminate intimate images of her. Garyn was arrested in December 2020 and search warrants were executed by law enforcement to seize and search various computer equipment and cellular telephones in his possession. Garyn, 29, pleaded guilty on Sept. 19.

Just released! Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Fourth Precinct Crime Section officers are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the man who allegedly stole a leaf blower from the driveway of a residence on Old Indian Head Road in Commack on Oct. 13 at approximately 4:45 p.m. The man was driving a red two-door pickup truck with a white tailgate.

Man arrested for making fake 911 calls

On Nov. 21, Suffolk County Police arrested a Coram man who allegedly made multiple false 911 calls over a two-year span. Andrew Welcom made a 911 call on  Aug. 18, reporting a woman had been assaulted and any law enforcement officer that attempted to enter a Lake Ronkonkoma home to help her would be shot. Police responded to the location and found no one in the home was in danger and there were no problems at the house.

As a result of the incident, the Fourth Precinct Crime Section investigated similar incidents and located four additional 911 calls dating back to November 2020 that could be traced to Welcom. The calls all reported a suspicious person or crime and all were determined to be unfounded. During at least one of the phone calls, Welcom identified himself as a New York City Police officer. Following an investigation, Welcom, 34, was arrested and charged with five counts of Falsely Reporting an Incident and two counts of Criminal Impersonation.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Fourth Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the males who allegedly stole merchandise from a Commack store in October.

Three men allegedly stole approximately $16,000 worth of fragrances from Ulta, located at 78 Veterans Memorial Highway, on October 20 at 8:25 p.m. The suspects fled in a darkcolored four-door sedan.

Update: Suffolk County Police arrested a Farmingdale man on Nov. 25 for robbing a bank in Farmingdale. Suffolk County Police Major Case Unit detectives arrested Alexander Almonte Cabrera in Levittown at 3:40 p.m. today. Almonte Cabrera, 21, was charged with Robbery 3rd Degree. He will be held overnight at the Third Precinct, and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on November 26.

Suffolk County Police Major Case Unit detectives are investigating a robbery that occurred at a
Farmingdale bank on Nov. 23.

A man entered TD Bank, located at 90 Broadhollow Road at approximately 12 p.m. and handed a teller a note demanding cash. The teller complied and the robber fled on foot. The man is described as light-skinned Hispanic, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall with a thin build. He was wearing sunglasses, a dark-colored hooded-sweatshirt with Wild Cats written across the chest, and grey sweatpants.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to call the Major Case Unit at 631-852-6553 or Crime

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate two women who allegedly stole merchandise from an East Farmingdale store.

Two women allegedly stole approximately $1,500 worth of merchandise, including three electric scooters, a drone, and a hoverboard, from Target, located at 100 Willow Park, on August 4 at approximately 8 p.m.

Update on Nov. 22: Detectives have determined the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian in Holbrook was a white Jeep Grand Cherokee, model year 2016 or newer. The vehicle likely sustained right front quarter panel damage.

Suffolk County Police Major Case Unit detectives are investigating a hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian in Holbrook. A passing motorist called 911 at approximately 6:45 a.m. on November 20 to report a body on the side of Veterans Memorial Highway at Grundy Avenue.

Following an investigation, it was determined the man was crossing eastbound Veterans Memorial Highway when he was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene. The man, Alan Lepre, 59, of Holbrook, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1- 800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.

Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating an incident during which a man died after driving his vehicle into the water in Bay Shore on Nov. 22.

Robert Lancaster was operating a Nissan Rogue at the Maple Avenue dock when he suffered an apparent medical emergency and drove into the water at approximately 6:50 a.m. Lancaster, 39, of
Commack, was pulled from the water and pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on this incident to call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392.
