MEET WALL-E!

This week’s featured shelter pet is Wall-E, a two-year-old orange tabby cat  who has been at the Smithtown Animal Shelter since late January. 

Found through the shelter’s TNR program, this sweet boy obviously comes from a tough life of being bullied but he is gentle and loving. Wall-E is FIV+ but that is no issue so long as he remains an indoor only cat. According to shelter staff, this sweet hunk loves to be loved all of the time. Adopt this young boy and you will not regret it.

Adopt Morris!This week’s featured shelter pet is Morris, a handsome 10-year-old orange tabby available for adoption at the Smithtown Animal Shelter.

Morris was found as a stray in early January. .His friendliness and ease around people gave caretakers hope that someone would claim him, but sadly, no one came for him.

Morris is an outgoing fella who loves people, which is evident upon making his acquaintance. He will not hesitate to introduce himself, excited to make new friends, especially those fond of being on the receiving end of infinite affection, purring, and cuddling.

Morris is every cat lover’s dream; he allows those around him to enjoy his playfulness, sweet and loving nature. He is very good at letting you know if he needs quiet time when overstimulated. Morris is a perfect gentleman who will bring companionship, joy, and cherished moments to a lucky family’s heart and home.

MEET GREEN BEAN CASSEROLE!

This week’s featured shelter pet is Green Bean Casserole, a 6-year-old female brown tabby cat at the Smithtown Animal Shelter.

Green Bean was one of several cats abandoned when their pet parents moved. This shy little lady with stunning green eyes will need a little patience before she can trust. She is used to living with multiple cats and can be adopted alone or with one of her housemates.

MEET GOLDIE AND KATE!

This week’s featured shelter pets are a bonded mother/daughter duo, Goldie Hawn and Kate Hudson, available for adoption at the Smithtown Animal Shelter. These  sweet and stunning ladies both have FIV and Goldie is diabetic. Goldie is beyond affectionate with everyone she meets while Kate takes a little time to warm up to new people, but follows mom’s lead in all things.

This week’s featured shelter pet is Cranberry Sauce, one of several cats abandoned when their parents moved and now safe at the Smithtown Animal Shelter. She is a little love bug that will brighten your day.

According to the shelter’s staff, this little lady is all love all of the time.  She follows you around and demands attention. She is a stage 5 clinger and you won’t mind one little bit!

Cranberry can be adopted alone or with one of her housemates. She has an overactive thyroid and will need a home that can manage that

This week’s featured shelter pet is Butterball, a smorgasbord of purr-fection and available for adoption at the Smithtown Animal Shelter. This handsome, portly, domestic short-haired brown tabby, is a six year old boy who comes equipped with a banquet of love to give one lucky family. Butterball lived in a home until the owner moved, only to abandon him and his other feline friend companions behind. Despite his heartbreak and desertion, Butterball is ever so sweet, and in search of his forever home where he can bring endless joy and laughter to one lucky family!

While at first encounters, Butterball may appear to be on the shy side. However, with a little patience and gentle persuasion to earn his trust, will culminate into a jumbo-sized dose of unconditional love and loyalty. If his rotund personality is the total package for you, then the sweet sound of Butterball’s endearing purr, and endless devotion is the icing on the cake. It is nearly impossible to resist Butterball’s charming nature once he trusts you. Simply put, this is one of the most lovable and huggable best buds you will ever meet!

Butterball would thrive in a serene home with older children, mellow dogs, and cats. While his size and stature make him unique and adorable, he will need a family that will support him in sticking to a healthy diet to help him meet his weight loss goals for the new year.

This magnificent, all-black, domestic short-haired lady at the Smithtown Animal Shelter is estimated to be less than a year old. The lovely Leslie was brought to the shelter as a stray. The Team at the Shelter believed she would be claimed however, no one came for sweet Leslie.

Leslie is the PURR-fect, well-mannered ladylike feline. Upon making her acquaintance, she will approach you in a laid back fashion, and will gladly accept pets, snuggles and a good scratch behind the ears. It only takes a short period of time for this bewitching beauty to reveal her fondness for humans, and receiving unconditional TLC. Leslie is a sweet, laid-back, girl who genuinely appreciates the simple pleasure of human companionship. She is young, healthy, and ready to find a lucky family to love and be loved unconditionally.

Leslie would thrive in a serene home with older children. She prefers to be in the company of humans and is not fond of other animals in her space, therefore, she would do best as an only pet.

ADOPT BUSTER FOR THE HOWLIDAYS!

This 4-year-old 90 pound male chocolate lab at the Smithtown Animal Shelter is fun and affectionate. He loves all people, taking walks and FOOD!

This handsome, healthy, and energetic boy was brought to the animal shelter due to a change in his family’s circumstances. We simply can’t comprehend how this dapper dog hasn’t managed to lock down a great home yet.

Buster is athletic, and is not shy when it comes to showing off how fast he can fetch a tennis ball. He gets the “bootie wiggles” upon greeting him… which will provide for endless laughter and joy for one lucky family. Buster is a rambunctious tweenager, who has some resource guarding, so he may not live with younger children or other animals. His best life would be with a family who has experience, patience and understanding, when it comes to the highly intelligent mind of a labrador.  A little persistence is worth it for this chocolate lab, who melts hearts and has a very long life of unconditional love, laughter and memories to give.

Adopt Lucky!    

This handsome, black-and-white male, labrador mix at the Smithtown Animal Shelter is approximately four years old. Lucky is a golden nugget of joy in search of his four-leaf clover. Sadly, luck was not on his side when he was abandoned by the people who adopted him due to a change in their living situation. Despite his heartbreak, Lucky remains incredibly sweet, loving, and playful. The dedicated team at the Animal Shelter exclaims that this good boy is the most outgoing, friendly pup who loves meeting new people. To say that Lucky is a social butterfly would be an understatement.

Lucky has so much love to give, is full of energy, and can be adopted to a home with children, and likely other pets. He has a penchant for escape, so this is something that his future family will need to keep in mind. Lucky is an absolute crowd-pleasing delight, who would make a wonderful addition to a household looking for a fun-loving companion.

Kai

MEET KAI!

This week’s shelter pet is Kai,  a Bully/Poodle/Terrier mix still waiting to be adopted from the Smithtown Animal  & Adoption Shelter since arriving  in February of this year.

Estimated to be about two years old, Kai is one adorably unique looking dude! At 55 pounds, he is love and fun all of the time but was denied proper training and socializing and nees a patient family that will show him love and give him the time he’s been denight. He would do best in a home with older children. To meet him is to fall in love!
