Suffolk County Police  arrested a man on Oct. 30 for driving while ability impaired by drugs following a motor vehicle crash in Manorville.

Austin Richuitti was driving a 2011 Cadillac westbound on the Long Island Expressway near exit 69 at a high rate of speed when the vehicle hit the rear of a 2010 International oil truck which caused the truck to overturn into a wooded area.

Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop a short time prior to the crash but Richuitti fled.

Richuitti, 19, of Bellport, was arrested and charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, Reckless Endangerment 2nd Degree, and Reckless Driving. The Cadillac was impounded for a safety check and the International oil truck was checked at the scene by Motor Carrier Safety Section officers.

Richuitti and the operator of the International oil truck, Timothy Abruzzo, 24, of Kings Park, were transported via Suffolk County Police helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital in stable condition.

Richuitti will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on a later date.

Suffolk County Police Seventh Squad detectives are investigating a multi-vehicle crash that injured three people, one seriously, in Manorville on Sept. 21.

A 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by Carlos Quezadamorocho, and a 2024 Subaru Outback, driven by Elise Caren, were involved in a minor collision on the westbound Long Island Expressway, between Exit 69 and Exit 68, at approximately 10:05 p.m.

The two vehicles pulled onto the right shoulder and the drivers got out to exchange information when a westbound 2022 Subaru Outback, driven by Mitchel Ashkanazy, veered off the roadway and crashed into the rear of the 2024 Subaru, injuring both drivers and a passenger.

Quezadamorocho, 25, of Southampton, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Caren, 36, of Huntington, and her passenger, Andrew Senuta, 36, of Huntington, were transported to the same hospital with minor injuries. Ashkanazy, 72, of Fairlawn, NJ, was not injured. The three vehicles were impounded for safety checks.

Suffolk County Police Seventh Squad detectives are investigating a single-vehicle crash that seriously
injured a motorist in Manorville on Feb. 16.

John Boocock was driving a 1997 Jeep Cherokee northbound on Barnes Road near Moriches-Middle
Island Road when he lost control of the vehicle which left the roadway. The vehicle then struck a fire
hydrant and overturned at approximately 4:30 p.m.

Boocock, 26, of Mastic Beach, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries.
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Anyone with information on this crash is asked to call
