TIME TO PLAY

Village Chabad Center for Jewish Learning of Stony Brook was awarded a $25,000 check from Investors Bank in Setauket on Nov. 5 for the organization’s new preschool playground. “This project has been proudly supported by a grant from Investors Foundation,” said Hope Kinney, Branch Manager of Investor’s Bank, pictured in center with Village Chabad co-directors Rabbi Chaim and Rivkie Grossbaum.

Empire Subaru of Huntington has once again selected Huntington Hospital as the recipient of Subaru’s Share the Love program. The dealership donated more than $50,000 to Huntington Hospital’s award-winning neurosurgery department. This is the second year the dealership has donated to the hospital. CHECK PRESENTATION

On Aug. 14, Bikers Against Heroin (BAH), a Medford-based organization committed to education and awarenss of the heroin problem on Long Island,  presented a check in the amount of $4,000 to Mercy Center Ministries in Patchogue.

The money, which was raised during a Run From the Needle bike run fundraiser on July 14, will benefit Mercy Center’s three local Suffolk shelters serving 16- to 23-year-old  homeless young women and women with children. Both organizations strive to make their communities stronger and safer by providing essential services to people who find themselves in crisis.
