MEET JACK!

Photo from Kent Animal Shelter

Poor poor Jack … This handsome boy used to have a home, until his owner was diagnosed with cancer. No longer being able to care for him, she had no other choice but to bring him to Kent Animal Shelter. Jack is a 5-year-old lab mix. He’s friendly, energetic and would love to be your new best friend. And guess what, Jack is already crate trained and is house trained to boot! You really can’t go wrong with this goofy guy. Jack would love to have all of your attention, so it would be best if he were an only pet. He comes neutered, microchipped and is up to date on all his vaccines.

Kent Animal Shelter is located at 2259 River Road in Calverton. For more information on Jack and other adoptable pets at Kent, call 631-727-5731 or visit www.kentanimalshelter.com.

MEET BELLA! This little girl is Bella, who, as her name implies, is beautiful inside and out. A pug/beagle mix, she is 5 years young, spayed, microchipped and up to date on all her vaccines. Bella’s family was no longer able to care for her, so they ended up having to bring her to Kent Animal Shelter. She is great with other dogs, cats and children, is full of energy, very sweet and affectionate and just loves to play! She would love to find her forever home — could that be with you?

Kent Animal Shelter is located at 2259 River Road in Calverton. For more information on Bella and other adoptable pets at Kent, please call 631-727-5731 or visit www.kentanimalshelter.com.

MEET CARTER! This handsome boy is Carter, a domestic short hair tuxedo cat who is neutered and up to date on all his shots. Carter came to Kent Animal Shelter as a kitten and was unfortunately overlooked. Now he is six years old and has never known the joys of having a forever home, only life in a shelter. Carter would love if you would come meet him so he could prove that he’s just as good as all those kittens he sees getting adopted every day.

Kent Animal Shelter is located at 2259 River Road in Calverton. For more information on Carter and other adoptable pets at Kent, please call 631-727-5731 or visit www.kentanimalshelter.com.

Aviana

Looks like she’s smiling, doesn’t it? Say hello to Aviana, a two-and-a-half-year-old Labrador Retriever mix currently staying at Kent Animal Shelter. This sweetheart certainly has a story to tell . . . but she’s too shy to share it. In this case, it may be better not to know because it certainly doesn’t seem like she’s had a good life so far. Aviana would most likely do best in a quiet home where she can take all the time she needs to come out of her shell. With lots of hugs and kisses, she will surely gain some confidence once she sees that the world isn’t such a bad place.

Aviana gets along well with dogs and cats, she is spayed, de-wormed, microchipped and up to date on all her vaccines. Why not drop by and say hello? Kent Animal Shelter is located at 2259 River Road in Calverton. For more information on Aviana and other adoptable pets at Kent, please call 631-727-5731 or visit www.kentanimalshelter.com.

Update: Aviana has been adopted!

MEET DURACELL!

This is Duracell, a male shepherd mix who was rescued from the dog meat trade in Thailand by the SOI Dog Foundation and is now safe and sound at Kent Animal Shelter. Thai dogs have a particularly horrible life, but thankfully there are groups out there rescuing the ones that they can.

Duracell is super sweet, loves people and would make a great family pet. He’s 5 years young and can’t wait to have the loving and caring home he so deserves. Kent Animal Shelter is located at 2259 River Road in Calverton. For more information on Duracell and other adoptable pets at Kent, please call 631-727-5731 or visit www.kentanimalshelter.com.

MEET CHARLIE AND FARLEY! This week’s shelter pets of the month are Charlie and Farley, two brothers from the streets of Puerto Rico. These Chihuahua mixes are 5 years old and are very sweet and gentle. They only have one simple request — they would like to be adopted out together because they are so attached and you know what they say — two dogs are better than one! Kent Animal Shelter is located at 2259 River Road in Calverton. For more information on Charlie and Farley and other adoptable pets at Kent, please call 631-727-5731 or visit www.kentanimalshelter.com.

MEET SHONA! Shona, one of several dogs from Thailand rescued by the SOI Dog Foundation, has recently arrived at the Kent Animal Shelter, 2259 River Road in Calverton. Instead of being brutally butchered in the Asian dog meat trade, she is now safe and sound. This sweet Shepherd mix is 6 years young, weighs 41 pounds, is spayed, microchipped and up to date on all her shots. Please come give this pretty girl the loving and caring home she so deserves!
