Richard

Update: Richard has been adopted!

This week’s Shelter Pet of the Week is Richard, a 10-month-old classic brown tabby cat rescued by Kent Animal Shelter from a house where his owner hoarded a lot of cats and could not care for them all. 

Richard is a quiet, playful and gentle guy, a little on the shy side, but once he gets to know you he loves cuddles and belly rubs. He also really likes other cats! He comes neutered, microchipped and is up to date on his vaccines. Come visit Richard and perhaps bring this furbaby home for the holidays.

MEET GINGER NOODLE!

This week’s featured shelter pet is Ginger Noodle, a 1-year-old Chihuahua mix rescued from Texas. 

Ginger loves everyone! She would be the perfect companion for either a family or someone living on their own who is looking for a faithful companion.   Come on down to the shelter and spend some time with her. You’ll be sure to fall in love!

This week’s featured shelter pet is Brody, a 2-year-old handsome boy who was rescued from a Texas kill shelter and is now safe at Kent Animal Shelter.  

Brody is great on a leash, house trained, very sweet, loves attention and especially loves a few extra treats thrown his way! He is especially fond of turkey treats (hint, hint). Come on down to the shelter and meet him! He comes neutered, microchipped and up to date on his vaccines.

MEET PENELOPE!

This week’s featured shelter pet is Penelope, a 4-year-old terrier mix who was adopted from Kent Animal Shelter as a puppy and was recently returned, due to no fault of her own. 

Penelope is a happy-go-lucky girl and is great with everything and everybody. She loves kids, is fine with other dogs and is housebroken. Come on down to the shelter and meet her! She comes spayed, microchipped and up to date on her vaccines.

MEET ABBEY AND SARAH!

Abbey

This week’s shelter pets are Abbey, left, and Sarah, above, two sweeties who have just arrived from Mississippi and are waiting at Kent Animal Shelter for their furever homes. 

They are both approximately 2 years old and are ready for the next chapter in their lives. Both have lovely personalities and are great on a leash. As you can see from their photos, a little time spent on Weight Watchers wouldn’t hurt either one of them! With a little TLC they’ll be in tip-top shape.

King Rotor

MEET KING ROJOR!

King Rotor

This week’s shelter pet is  King Rojor, a mixed-breed dog rescued from the meat trade in Thailand and now safe at Kent Animal Shelter.

King, who weighs approximately 35 pounds,  has a very sweet disposition, and even though he is missing one of his back legs he is still a happy-go-lucky fella! He gets around just fine, and loves to go for walks with the shelter’s volunteers. 

This sweet boy comes neutered, microchipped and up to date on his vaccines.

Blue

MEET BLUE!

Blue

This week’s shelter pet is Blue, a 2-year-old husky mix from Puerto Rico. Blue may look familiar to our readers — he was featured in the paper back in November of 2017. He was adopted from Kent Animal Shelter and then brought back because the owners fell on hard times. 

Blue, who sports one blue eye and one brown eye, would love a big backyard to run around in and would be best in a home without kids. Once he knows you he’s the sweetest boy! Come on down to the shelter and meet him!

Blue comes neutered, microchipped and up to date on all his vaccines.

This week’s shelter pet is Henry, a 3-year-old border collie mix currently waiting for a new home at Kent Animal Shelter. This handsome boy is as smart as they come. He would play fetch all day long if you let him! Henry would do best with an active person, since he is always on the go. Come on down to the shelter and take him for a walk and see what a great catch he is!

MEET LOUISE!

This week’s featured shelter pet is Louise, a 2-year-old hound mix rescued from the Bahamas after the hurricane.  Louise is a super sweet girl, with a tail that never stops wagging. She’s pretty low keyed but gets excited to see the kennel staff when they arrive in the morning.

MEET JILLY BEAR!

This week’s featured shelter pet is Jilly Bear, a 1-year-old Lab mix rescued from the hurricane-ravaged Bahamas and now safe and sound at Kent Animal Shelter.

Jilly Bear was flown into Gabreski Airport in Westhampton Beach last week with 20 other dogs. Kent took four of these pups, and the rest were sent to other rescue groups. Jilly Bear is a sweetheart and would love nothing more than to have her own loving home. Come on down to visit with her! She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on all her vaccines and ready for a new life with a loving family.
