Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Major Case Unit detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate a man wanted for questioning in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred in Huntington Station in May.

Amilar Velasquez was walking northbound on the shoulder of West Hills Road on May 5 at approximately 12:15 a.m. when he was struck by a dark-colored vehicle that fled the scene. Valasquez was transported to Huntington Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Detectives want to speak to the man pictured who was seen at a nearby establishment prior to the crash.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Major Case Unit detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the person who fatally struck a pedestrian and fled the scene in Huntington Station in March.

Bernarda Fernandez was crossing Jericho Turnpike at Oakwood Road when she was struck by a Jeep Cherokee traveling westbound on Jericho Turnpike at 3:49 a.m. on March 4. Fernandez, 49, of Huntington Station, was transported to Huntington Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The Jeep fled the scene northbound on Oakwood Road.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the driver who fled the scene of a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured a pedestrian in Huntington Station on Dec. 29.

A woman was attempting to cross New York Avenue, just south of Huntington Public Library (Station Branch), when she was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene southbound on New York Avenue at 7:10 p.m. The victim, 39, was airlifted with serious injuries to Stony Brook University Hospital. Her identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The vehicle that fled is described as an older model gray four-door sedan, possibly a Nissan Sentra or Altima.
