Suffolk County Police Street Takeover Task Force

Above, the vehicle being impounded after the owner, Matthew Serritella, 21, of Coram, was arrested for Reckless Driving and Unlawful Fleeing from Police last night.

Suffolk County Police arrested a man on June 27 and impounded his vehicle in Coram after he fled from police who were initiating a traffic stop for reckless driving last week in Ronkonkoma.

Members of the Street Takeover Task Force attempted to pull over a 2004 Infinity sedan that was speeding at 130 miles per hour, without headlights on, on the Eastbound Long Island Expressway, on June 22 at approximately 11 p.m. The driver fled, taking Exit 61 southbound on Patchogue Holbrook Road. The Street Takeover Task Force located the vehicle at the driver’s residence on Sandpiper Lane in Coram last night at approximately 7:50 p.m.

The driver, Matthew Serritella, 21, was arrested for Reckless Driving and Unlawful Fleeing from Police and was issued 13 summonses. The vehicle was impounded. Serritella is scheduled to appear at First District Court in Central Islip on July 17.

Suffolk County Police on March 16 impounded a vehicle in Shirley that was wanted for unlawful fleeing from a car meet that occurred on March 15 in Hauppauge.

Members of the Street Takeover Task Force attempted to pull over a 2015 BMW M3 as it fled from the car meet in a reckless manner at approximately 9 p.m. The driver of the BMW turned off the vehicle’s lights and accelerated through multiple traffic signals while evading police.

An officer from the Task Force located the vehicle travelling northbound on William Floyd Parkway in Shirley and successfully pulled it over on March 16 at 11:15 p.m.

The driver, Clyde Jean Baptiste, 23, of Mastic Beach was issued multiple Vehicle and Traffic Law citations and the vehicle was impounded as evidence of Unlawful Fleeing from the previous night’s incident.

Suffolk County Police cited two drivers for an unlawful speed contest and reckless driving in Shirley on Feb. 7.

Members of the Suffolk County Police Street Takeover Task Force observed a 2020 Infiniti Q50 and a 2016 Audi S3 traveling westbound on the LIE, near Exit 68, allegedly racing each other at speeds of 109 mph with the headlights off at 9:45 p.m.

Officers safely stopped both vehicles and cited their drivers, Randy Lopez, 20, of Middle Island, who was driving the Infiniti, and Evan Hacker, 20, of East Patchogue, who was driving the Audi, for Illegal Speed Contest, Reckless Driving, and multiple misdemeanor violations and other traffic infractions.

They will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on February 27. Both vehicles were impounded.

Suffolk County Police cited two drivers for an illegal speed contest in Medford on Jan. 26.

Members of the Suffolk County Police Street Takeover Task Force observed a 2018 Audi S4 and a 2011 Infiniti southbound on County Road 101, near Woodside Avenue, traveling more than 90 miles per hour at approximately 7 p.m.

Officers initiated a traffic stop of both vehicles and cited the drivers. The driver of the Audi, Dillen Anchundia, 21, of Bay Shore, and the driver of the Infiniti, Matthew Hirschkind, 21, of Medford, were both issued summonses for Unlawful Speed Contest, Speeding and multiple vehicle traffic laws. Both men will be arraigned at Suffolk County Criminal Court on a later date.

Both vehicles were seized and taken to the Suffolk County Impound lot.

Suffolk County Police cited two drivers for an illegal speed contest and reckless driving in Islandia on Jan. 5.

Members of the Suffolk County Police Street Takeover Task Force observed two Mercedes Benz sedans traveling eastbound on the LIE, near Exit 58, weaving in and out of traffic at speeds in excess of 100 mph at 8:45 p.m. Officers safely stopped both vehicles and cited their drivers, Dean Carfora, 24, of Lloyd Harbor, and Matthew Famighette, 24, of West Babylon, for Illegal Speed Contest, Reckless Driving, and multiple Vehicle Traffic Law and Suffolk County Law violations.

They will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on January 24. Both vehicles, 2024 Mercedes Benz 4-door sedans, were seized.
