Shelter Pets of the Week

Ranger and Lily

This week’s shelter pets are 18-year-old Ranger (tuxedo) and 12-year-old Lily (tabby), currently up for adoption at the Smithtown Animal Shelter. These sweet seniors lost their home due to a house fire. They are bonded and would prefer to go to a home together.

Ranger and Lily love other cats and lived with a small child. They deserve a warm lap and lots of love to enjoy their golden years. They are very healthy for their ages and just had their teeth all polished up!

If you would like to meet Ranger and Lily, please call ahead to schedule an hour to properly interact with them in a domestic setting.

The Smithtown Animal & Adoption Shelter is located at 410 Middle Country Road, Smithtown. Visitor hours are currently Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Sundays and Wednesday evenings by appointment only).

For more information, call 631-360-7575 or visit www.smithtownanimalshelter.com.

Samson

This week’s shelter pets are Samson and Delilah, up for adoption at the Smithtown Animal Shelter. Samson is an 8-year-old, neutered male, boxer pit mix. Delilah is a 10-year-old spayed female pit mix.  These two were abandoned in a park after their mom passed away. They are both gentle and love people.

Delilah

Delilah has chronic dry eye and skin allergies and will need a home that can manage this. These seniors love each other. Samson is simply addicted to Delilah, she is less bonded but loves him in her way. Delilah is dominant and does not enjoy other animals.  Samson submits to her well and knows his boundaries. These love bugs deserve to spend their golden years in a loving home together, however, if that is not possible, the shelter  will separate them for the right home.

If you would like to meet these sweethearts, please call ahead to schedule an hour to properly interact with them in a domestic setting.

This week’s shelter pets are a litter of adorable pups named after some of the unsung Avengers — Bucky, Falcon, Barton, Rhodie, Wanda and Shuri — who are available for adoption at the Smithtown Animal Shelter.

These amazing pit/Staffordshire mixes are as sweet and outgoing as they come. They are around 7 months old and every single pup has a gentle and loving personality. They love to run, give kisses and snuggle. They were raised together, with their doggy parents and with a human baby, so they are used to kids and a little chaos! They can be adopted as singles or pairs and need homes that will continue to nurture their gentle demeanors. These little avengers are sure to steal the heart of anyone who meets them.

If you are interested in meeting these puppies, please call ahead to schedule an hour to properly interact with them in a domestic setting, which includes a dog run and a Meet and Greet Room.

MEET MATTY, MOTOR AND SID!

Shy cats need love too!

This week’s shelter pets are, from top, Matty, Motor and Sid, 1-year-old cats at the Smithtown Animal Shelter that are overlooked time and again because they are shy.

All 3 grew up in the shelter and watched their more outgoing siblings get happy homes. They may take time to let you in, but when they do, they are loving, playful and sweet. These three boys are buds but not bonded. They’d love to be homed together, but will adjust if they aren’t.

Shy cats need quiet homes with patience and lots of love to give but  they are worth it! The trio come spayed, microchipped and is up to date on their vaccines.

If you are interested in meeting  Matty, Motor and Sid, please call ahead to schedule an hour to properly interact with them.
