Update: Suffolk County Police arrested a man on June 10 for allegedly leaving the scene of a motor vehicle crash that killed one man and seriously injured another in Medford on June 8.

Following an investigation, Major Case Unit detectives arrested Dolores Mancia-Landaverde for driving a BMW that struck a tractor-trailer on Horseblock Road at Express Drive North, on June 8 at 1:52 a.m.

A passenger in the BMW, Hedilberto Nava Perez, 44, of Medford, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner. Another passenger, Adan Nava Palacios 20, of Medford, is at Stony Brook University Hospital, with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Mancia-Landaverde, 28, of Medford, was arrested and charged with Leaving the Scene of Incident Involving a Fatality. He is being held at the Sixth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on June 11.

Suffolk County Police Major Case Unit detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a man and seriously injured another man in Medford on June 8.

A tractor-trailer was traveling northwest on Horseblock Road and attempting to make a left turn onto Express Drive North when the tractor-trailer was struck by a 2008 BMW at 1:52 a.m. The driver of the BMW fled on foot.

One passenger in the BMW was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner. The other passenger was airlifted via Suffolk County Police helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The driver of the tractor- trailer was not injured.

The driver of the BMW is described as a Hispanic male who was wearing a dark-colored shirt and tan shorts.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Sixth Precinct Crime Section officers are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the man who allegedly drove his jeep into a parked vehicle in the parking lot of a Medford store.

A man was driving a grey Jeep Wrangler in the parking lot of Lowe’s, located at 2796 Route 112, when his vehicle allegedly struck an unoccupied parked car causing an estimated $1000 in damage on May 30 at approximately 5 p.m. The man in the Jeep fled the scene without stopping.
