Milo

Meet Milo

In his prime at the age of seven, this modest, mild mannered Terrier mix at Little Shelter in Huntington is Milo. Always happy to see you, he loves going on walks and participating in all your plans for the day. Deferring to you for the itinerary, he’s content just to be by your side, whether you’re working to bring home the bacon ( did someone say bacon?) or taking the day off to enjoy the spring weather. Affable and courteous, Milo is the perfect gentleman and the best storyteller, making him the most popular guest at any gathering. If our man Milo sounds like the ideal addition to your family, stop by soon to say hello! 631-368-8770, ext. 2

Blaze

Meet Blaze

Can you imagine 5 years (1,825 days) without a family, a home, a couch to veg on, a friend to snuggle with?  March 29 was Blaze’s 5th shelter-versary at the Town of Smithtown Animal Shelter and Adoption Center. At 11 years old, this boy is a staff favorite. He’s affectionate, well mannered, knows his commands, loves fiercely and vocalizes what he wants. Blaze is nervous of strangers and protective of his people. That’s his only (very workable) quirk. He doesn’t deserve to spend another anniversary in the shelter.  Will you be his hero?  631-360-7575

These handsome devils at the Smithtown Animal Shelter are both estimated to be around 4 years young.  They were found together, and do enjoy each other, but are not bonded.  While the shelter would love to adopt them together, they will adopt separately for the right homes.  Both are nervous dogs and need slow intros to new animals. They love all people. Clark needs someone around most of the time as he is nervous to be on his own.  Eddie is more adjusted to alone time.  Both boys are sweet and affectionate. 631-360-7575

Kaos

Meet Kaos

Happy New Year to you too Kaos! This gentle, 85lb Robbie mix at the Brookhaven Animal Shelter is looking for her forever family. This sweet 5 to 6-year-old girl adores people and is thrilled to meet everyone she can.

Kaos is a strong girl who knows her basic commands, seems housebroken, and appreciates the comfort of a cozy dog bed. She’s a food lover and needs help with her weight loss journey after coming to us quite overweight. Eager for walks, she’s strong on the leash and could use some additional training, but she’d thrive in a home with a yard to explore enjoying sniffing and some fetch with toys. Even though her actual favorite activity involves pets and cuddles with her humans.

This goofy girl would shine in a home with children over 10 years old who appreciate her playful personality. Kaos is up-to-date on vaccinations and heartworm tested and spayed, ready for her forever home. Consider welcoming Kaos into your heart and home today! 631-451-6950

Meet Abby

Abby is a friendly seven and a half year-old female Domestic Short Hair who was brought to the Smithtown Animal Shelter after she had a difficult time adjusting to a new baby in the house. She is outgoing and affectionate, but she prefers to call the shots when it comes to being petted and loved. She likes to have her own space and boundaries, and any potential owners should be respectful of that need. Abby would do well living in a quiet home without children or other pets. If you would like to meet Abby, call 631-360-7575 to set up a meet and greet.

Pluto

Meet Pluto

Once in a blue moon, you discover a match made in Heaven…or, in this case, Pluto, currently up for adoption at Little Shelter in Huntington. A nine-year- old Poodle mix, this Silver Paw Connection member is ready to whoosh into your orbit and align your priorities for 2023.

The planet Pluto (which has a heart shape on its surface) symbolizes renewal and transformation. This little pup will revive your adventuresome spirit and change your life with his positive energy. Nimble and active, he still has lots of walks, talks, and escapades in his future. Preferring the company of humans, he is looking for a home where he can be the only canine. There’s not a word yet for old friends who’ve just met…unless perhaps it’s Pluto. Call 631-368-8770, ext 21.
