Throughout Saturday and Sunday, April 8 and 9, children filled the fields at Benner’s Farm looking for plastic eggs with treats, especially the golden eggs that held special surprises.
Families were also able to visit with the Easter Bunny and the farm animals and buy goods from local craft vendors.
On April 17, Easter Sunday, the Greater Port Jefferson Chamber of Commerce hosted its 27th annual Easter parade.
Led by the Easter Bunny, dozens of children, parents and community members marched through the village streets. Starting from Theatre Three on Main Street, the parade route cut through East Main, and finally ended at the Port Jefferson Village Center.
The event was concluded by a massive egg hunt in Harborfront Park, where participants scaled fences and sprinted long distances in pursuit of the precious hidden eggs.
Benner’s Farm in East Setauket continued its egg hunt tradition during the spring holidays, and for the second year in a row, created a socially-distanced event.
On April 16 and 17, families arrived to the farm at their designated time slots to enjoy the egg hunt, take photos with the Easter Bunny, visit with the farm’s animals and check out merchandise from local vendors.

Hundreds of families lined up to hunt for some eggs at the St. James Chamber of Commerce Spring Egg Hunt. The event returned for the first time after not being held the past two years due to COVID-19.
Children 1 to 10 years old with baskets in hand dashed around the field to collect a few eggs and then had the chance to win special prizes.
The Easter Bunny was also on hand to visit with families and to take pictures.
Hundreds of children and their families turned out to participate in the St. James Chamber of Commerce’s annual Easter egg hunt at Deepwell Farms. The race was on to collect multi-colored plastic eggs filled with candy from the lawn. Afterwards, children and their families had the opportunity to take pictures with the Easter Bunny.
Northport Village and St. James residents were ready for the Easter Bunny this year, as families and children of all ages came to hunt for eggs, take pictures with the Easter Bunny and play Easter-themed games.
The Greater Port Jefferson Chamber of Commerce hosted its 19th annual Easter Parade down Main Street in the Village, followed by an egg hunt in Harborfront Park Easter Sunday, April 16. Hundreds of kids and their parents scoured the park for eggs to fill their baskets, and later posed for photos with the Easter Bunny.
On April 8, Heritage Park in Mount Sinai and Rocketship Park in Rocky Point held their annual egg hunts.
During the sold out event at Heritage Park, children had the chance to take a picture with the Easter Bunny and enjoy refreshments following the hunt.
At Rocketship Park on Hallock Landing Road, children got their face painted and took part in various arts and crafts while listening to music provided by Parties by Ziggy during the event.
The hills of Benner’s Farm in Setauket were alive with children this past weekend.
Around 3,200 guests filed onto the farm for its seventh annual Easter Egg Hunt, with some families coming from as far as Queens and the Bronx. According to Bob Benner, the event grows more popular every year, with more than 11,000 eggs used for this year’s hunt.
Participants purchased spring flowers, took photos with the Easter Bunny, visited the farm’s new baby piglets or held baby chicks and bunnies while they waited for one of the farm’s three egg hunts to start.
