St. Johnland Nursing Home volunteers recognized at luncheon

St. Johnland Nursing Center in Kings Park honored its dedicated volunteers at a special luncheon on June 15. Administrator and CEO Mary Jean Weber recognized all 114 volunteers and thanked them for their extraordinary service to the residents over the past year. These faithful individuals transport residents to different educational and entertainment programs within the nursing center, bring in therapy dogs, work in the gift shop, host monthly teas and assist with special events and various office functions.

Carolyn O’Brien, director of recreation therapy, also offered her praise and said, “our volunteers’ exceptional attention to the 250 residents here at St. Johnland provides an invaluable service. We are very grateful for everything they do!”
